It was perfectly expalined in a documentary

They did experiments with everything from models to large boats.

But as it turns out, it has to be a large bubble instead of small ones. Though the small ones can cause trouble, too.

I heard from one show that one of the passengers heard moaning once in the Triangle, and there were mysterious disturbances...

Depends on the weather and the design of the ship.

There is some thought on whether there are magnetic feild disruptions there, that makes a compass function irregularily.

I hear if you put metal or a magnet (can't remember which) to a compass, it causes the compass to be useless.

Yes. Absolutly true. So perhaps there is some sort of magnet in the BT?

yeah thats true, the only reason a compass works is the magentic energy coming from the North Pole, which attracts the needle on the compass making it always face north

This affects it becasue a magnet creates it's own magnetic force, which is stronger because it is closer

I too have heard of the frozen methane theory.

It goes like this:

picture the sea bed. Then, sitting above the sea floor are frozen hydrate mounds ( frozen methane-water mix)- this is a natural occuence around the ocean floor.

Picture warm ocean currents which wander into the site, melting the hydrates, releasing a giant gas mass.

Gas bubbles grow bigger as they rise to the surface, because water pressure is lower near the surface.

Ships sail from "solid" water into areas of froth, which can't support ship's weight. The ship sinks.

Planes flying into rising methane gas cloud have their engines stall and die when they are unable to get enough oxygen from the air.

Alternate threat, Sparks or hot exhaust from engines could turn methane cloud into a fireball.

My question is: if frozen methane is a 'natural occurence" that can melt when the warm waters of the gulf stream pass through, why were these ships and planes disappearing only in this area of the world as this cannot be a phenomenon occuring only here? Secondly, why, have these occurences not continued and seem to be isolated to WWII events?

i dont think they were all during WWII my finding say the first ship to go down was called the General Gates an American ship the disapeared in 1780, and the first plane i cna find, that went down, went down on Dec 5th 1945, the war was over at that point, those were just the first of many planes and ships to disapear in that area, the last plane to disapear was on Sept 6th 2002, Piper Pawnee, southeast of Nassua, Bahamas but only the pilot was on board, so he might of just feel asleep
