Forum Upgrade

Post by ThomasAnderson »

I just learned that there's a new version of phpbb with a spell checker, and reporting posts to moderators. So, is there going to be an upgrade soon?

It's not out.

phpBB3, code-named Olympus, will be out sometime this year (hopefully). I expect Neo will upgrade when it's released.

phpBB3 will have many upgrades, including advanced permissions, group systems, subforums, warning system, new style, and more. It features an all new User Control Panel as well as updated Mod Control Panels and Admin Panels.

I heard there's a version 2.0.13 update, but was it due to security?

Yes. Most releases where the last digit is changed (i.e.-2.0.x) are security updates and provide no new functionality.

I believe the developers of the product are considering incorporating a spell check system. I haven't looked at the beta models recently, though.

I doubt they will. Always the little things, you know?
In the shadow of a memory, life becomes legend.
Existence goes on, but the myth will never end.
Passing down the story to the next of kin.
I'm kept here in the darkness, where I have always been.
